Phase Roadmap

Phase 1 – Foundations Brand-new nurse; shadowing, single patient with full preceptor assist, EMR immersion, infection prevention, communication standards.
Phase 2 – Core Practice Limited experience; telemetry application, escalation, med-surg to ICU bridge. Dysrhythmia course completion verified before starting.
Phase 3 – ICU Transition Experienced nurse new to ICU; advanced monitoring, drips, ventilators, sepsis bundles, rapid response integration.
Phase 4 – Unit Integration Experienced ICU RN onboarding to this unit; specialty pathways, leadership roles, final competency board.

Current Status & Next Focus

  • Repository status – first drafts are built and organized; content is now being reviewed for correctness, consistency, and teaching clarity.
  • ECG site status – the site is functioning; known errors remain where the strip can mismatch the question, and learning module enhancements are planned.
  • Live learning tools – Power Minutes and the ABG game are active and available now.
  • Unit collaboration – considering a closed unit discussion forum for questions, clarifications, and shared teaching tips.
  • References library – AACN/Benner/ICU residency evidence summaries are planned and will be added as they are finalized.
  • Staff Refreshers – quarterly plan and sign-off forms are in progress and will be added once approved.
